Today’s topic is: Doubling sales effort by using a sales assistant

According to Hubspot Salespeople spend just one-third of their day actually talking to prospects.

  • They spend 21% of their day writing emails
  • 17% entering data
  • another 17% prospecting and researching leads
  • 13% going to internal meetings
  • and 12% scheduling calls.

So I guess about 50% of their time is spent on sales admin.
What about you? Have you ever tracked how much time you spend on sales admin?
What do you feel it could be?
When I mentor business owners 50% is normally close to the mark.
When leading large sales teams at Coca-Cola the single biggest complaint was admin.
So we fixed it. We combined technology automation and sales admin people to remove it. The good ones make great use of it and others were found out.
I know you may be thinking it takes time to find and train someone and it is quicker doing it all myself. I hear you but you can push through this limiting belief.
Sales are the lifeblood of a business and as the owner, you are doing most of it. It is hard to double your sales while spending 50% on admin.

  • Send a message to people who view my Linkedin profile
  • Send a message to people who like and comment on my posts
  • Screen all incoming sales messages
  • Remove connections on Linkedin who spam me
  • Run outbound campaigns
  • Pre-engagement before sending campaigns
  • Enter and manages all incoming leads in my CRM.
  • Qualifies leads so I only have calls to make
  • Updates my sales CRM Copper
  • Archive messages in Linkedin and sales navigator (painful platforms)
  • Creates lists in sales navigator
  • Sends birthday messages – using a video I recorded it dubb
  • Update weekly scorecard
  • Runs sales reports from Copper
  • Enters deals for revenue forecasting
  • Tasks me to follow up on leads
  • Send him voxer messages to do tasks on my behalf post calls

I could go on for another 10 minutes.
I think you get the picture.
