Providing Value: LI Posting – How to Write an Engaging LinkedIn Post

You’ve perfected your LinkedIn profile, but this is not enough to get noticed and stay connected with your growing network of professional contacts and leads for your business.

LinkedIn is an amazing tool for business and can be the most powerful marketing tool in your business’s strategy. However, if you don’t know how to use it or which opportunities to take advantage of, it’s not going to have the same effect that it would otherwise.

Sure, LinkedIn can be tough to crack, but you can learn how to get noticed and engage with your followers on the platform with a few tricks.

So, what’s next after you have posted an audience-attracting profile? How do you continue winning with LinkedIn?

Now you need to create the perfect LinkedIn post for your business. The most effective LinkedIn posts include unique, meaningful, and relevant information, gathered from research and life experience. Good LinkedIn posts are professionally written, original, and deliver engaging content that will boost awareness of you and your brand, and convert leads into customers.

Here’s how.

4 Compelling reasons you must write engaging LinkedIn posts

With more than 750 million users from 200 countries, LinkedIn is the largest professional social network in the world. Your potential market is literally at your fingertips.

It is the perfect place for you to share your expertise, build your network, and generate leads and new business opportunities. To do this, it’s essential to write engaging LinkedIn posts. Here are the compelling reasons why:

  1. To highlight your professional skill set and experience

Highlighting your skills and experience demonstrates why people should follow you on LinkedIn. It gives them confidence in your abilities and encourages them to turn to you for help and advice.

  1. Increase your brand awareness by building up a personal brand

When you post valuable content regularly on your LinkedIn profile, it will increase brand awareness by showing people what you have to offer and build up your personal brand. You need to let people know how your skillset can be beneficial for them in order to make them want more from you. This increases the chances of getting seen by other professionals and potential customers.

  1. Build better relationships to increase the likelihood of making new connections

When you publish engaging content on LinkedIn, you provide the value that builds better relationships with those you are already connected with on the platform. And each time they like, comment, or share your post, it becomes visible to their LinkedIn network. That increases your reach and the likelihood of making new connections.

  1. Develop your reputation as a subject authority and thought leader

The more you publish quality content on LinkedIn, the more likely it is that you’ll be invited into relevant groups for subject-specific sharing opportunities. This leads to more connections.

4 Elements of an engaging LinkedIn post

My experience has taught me that there are four elements that you must include when writing LinkedIn posts. Get these right and you will compose content that is engaging:

  1. Choose the best theme

There are many different themes for LinkedIn posts, but the one that will work well for you will depend on what your audience wants. Remember, the goal is to engage your audience and at the same time offer them a call to action.

Choose your theme with care. Ensure that it is relevant to your business, improves your authority in the market, and helps to establish your brand.

  1. Write a compelling statement

Create a powerful statement that will intrigue your audience and make them want to know more. Make sure that it is true and not exaggerated. At the same time, keep it simple.

Focus on delivering a knockout blow that intrigues the reader. To do this, you can include statistics, humor, motivational quotes, and so on. Like highlighting that 55% of business decision-makers consider LinkedIn content when deciding who to work with.

  1. Create Valuable Content

You must follow through on your statement by composing valuable content. What does this look like?

The posts with the highest engagement rates tend to be those that are created by experts who can share their knowledge with their followers. To give your content the wow factor, you should:

  • Create value by adding your own insights
  • Be helpful to your audience by providing advice that they need to hear and listen to
  • Get personal with them by sharing moments in your life that have impacted you

Content that people love includes how-to guides, quotes, and summaries about important news.

  1. Pay attention to formatting LinkedIn posts

Creating engaging LinkedIn posts that will help you grow your business is important to pay attention to formatting. Here are my tips:

  • Use colors strategically
  • Write with voice
  • Keep your posts short and crisp as opposed to long-winded
  • Use images sparingly

Remember, too, that many people read LinkedIn posts on mobile devices. Therefore, when formatting your post, make sure that you optimize it to be viewed on tablets and smartphones as well as desktop computers.
